Cat's Eye Nebula
Is
there any relation between a rose, a star, and our holy Quran? Maybe you will
answer “All of them are beautiful”. It isn’t wrong, but is there something else
that can bond them together?
The
answer is ‘A phenomenon that involves rose
formed stars that is written in Al-Quran’. ”Hah?”. Still don’t
understand? If not you can see in Q.S. Ar-Rahman 37:
“And when the sky splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide”
“When
the sky splitteth asunder” it means Qiyamah or the Doomsday and “becometh rosy
like red hide” means a scheme of colors (not just red) when the Doomsday comes
with it’s asperity.
At September 18th 1994, the NASA took a photo from a nebula succesfully with the telescope Hubble. It is predicted to be a 1.000 years old star that died (Supernova). It was later presented in the American Astronomical Society in Tucson Arizona at January 11th 1995.
(For more information, you can access http//www.hubblesite.org or http//www.stsci.edu)
A
confession from NASA said that if a star explosed, then it would make a form
like a red rose. Even more, some people named this phenomenon as Oily Red Rose Nebula. A dying star can
also be called Supernova.
Now, after some researches,
scientist took some photos of dying stars again and found that the colors are
green. Because of it’s lightening green color, scientist named it ‘Cat’s Eye Nebula’. And now you are
asking, why did Allah explained a supernova with a red color? The answer is
simple: the green color that you see in the photos is actually not the real
color. The hubble telescope is been programed to color the picture based on
what it comprehend, as example blue color stands for oxygen, etc.. A NASA
scientist said:
"The
colors in Hubble images, which are assigned for various reasons, aren't always
what we'd see if we were able to visit the imaged objects in a spacecraft. We
often use color as a tool, whether it is to enhance an object's detail or to
visualize what ordinarily could never be seen by the human eye."
‘Cat’s Eye Nebula’, How does it happen?
Because ‘Cat’s
Eye Nebula’ is a little bit hard to write, i’ll write it down as Supernova
(hehe sorry...). A supernova is a event that bigger that signify the death of a
star and is bigger than a Nova. A dead star before it dies glows million times brighter than usually it
does. After some weeks or months, the died star will release a big amount of
energy with a velocity of 30.000km/s that will cause a big explotion. The
explotion is caused when the solar core stop or activate the production of
energy through nuclear fusion. Once the stellar core is old stopped producing
energy, then the star will undergo gravitational collapse and suddenly become a
black hole or neutron star, and releasing gravitational potential energy that
heats and destroys the outer layers of the star. A Supernova happens every one
second in this universe.
And now the
final question: What will happen if a
star near earth exploads? Yeah, it’s just a matter of time that the Doomsday
will come. So, maybe it’s time for us to think more about the afterlife.
Wallahu A’lam bisshawab.
To close this
article, let’s see the continuation of the verse above:
“So, which of the favors of your
Lord would you deny?”
I think it’s
enough from me. I am so sorry if there are many mistakes in this article.
Thanks for reading ^_^... Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi Wabarokatuh.

Mochi~, a Japanese Culinary
![]() |
| Mochi |
Hi friends=)) Did you read my last
post about holiday? So, about two weeks ago, at the January the first, almost
all people around the world are celebrating the transition from 2014 to 2015.
Because of that day too, we were given holiday hehe... but now I'm gonna write
just about new year in Japan. Beside all that fireworks, etc. there is a unique
tradition too in Japan: eating mochi.
According to wikipedia, Mochi is
Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, a short-grain
japonica glutinous rice. About the history, some people say it comes from
Tiongkok, but other says that mochi comes from japan. But it is a fact that
mochi exist in japan since Heian periode (794-1885C) as a meal for the nobles
at new year. Varied mochies were used as offerings for the caisars at religious
ceremonies in the beginning of the 10th century. Based on historical records
from 1070C, rice cakes were called "Mochii" with dobble i and new in
the 18 century Mochi were written with just one i. The name "Mochi"
itself comes from the word "motsu" that means 'hold something'. It
means that mochi is given from the gods (in their opinion). Beside that, mochi
is been related to the word 'mochizuki' (full moon) and 'muchimi' (sticky).
Back there, before the samurais want to fight at a war to spirit them up people made them mochies. Because of it's size, mochi is easy to bring. And mochies gives stamina to the body too. But because nowadays samurai doesn't exist, Japanese men immortalize it to a tradition, mochitsuki, held every desember-january or at new year.
Presently, there are many kinds of mochies. From ice cream mochi until mochi soup with various flavor, like chocolate, green tea, strawberry, etc. Oh yeah, did you hear about 'Mochi Sukabumi'? People say that mochi came to Inonesia at the second world war by japanese armies. Mochi is known well-born in Sukabumi because the main military headquarters of japan was in Sukabumi. But like I said before, according to the other opinion, mochi came Indonesia from generation to generation by tionghoa people that settle mainly in Sukabumi. Wallahu A'lam hehe
And now, the Mochi recept:) (notes: it's not the traditional way, it's from http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Mochi)
Ingredients:
1 lb Mochiko (glutinous rice flour,
sometimes called sweet rice flour)
3 cups sugar
1 can coconut milk
1/2 can sweetened condensed milk
(preferred for thicker sweeter mochi)
1 1/2 cups of water
A few drops of food colouring
(preferably red)
Katakuriko (potato starch) (cornstarch
is also a substitute or variation)
Steps to make
1. Assemble the ingredients and items
needed to prepare the mochi.
2. Sift the Mochiko into a large bowl.
3. Add the cups of white sugar.
4. Add the unsweetened coconut milk. Do
not stir.
5. Add the cups of plain water and a
few drops of food colouring. Mix with a balloon whisk until the mixture is
lump free.
6. Preheat the oven to 450f .
7. Line the cake pans with aluminum
foil (bottom and sides), grease the foil with oil or spray.
8. Divide the batter into the three
cake pans. Cover the batter with more greased foil so that the foil is
touching the batter.
9. Bake for 1 hour on the middle shelf
of your oven.
10. Let cool for another hour, then
take off the top foil from one of the pans.
11. Dust a work surface with
katakuriko (potato starch) and invert the mochi onto the surface. Very slowly
and carefully peel off the other layer of foil, and be careful because
it will try to stick.
12. Cut off the crusts around the edge
of the mochi. As the cook's prerogative, you can snack on these while you
prepare the final product.
13. Cut the mochi into triangles or
squares.
14. Dust each mochi triangle or square
on the bottom, top and sides with katakuriko. Do this until all of the
mochi are dusted.
Sweet versions: Mochi can be gently
rolled in desiccated coconut, dusted in cocoa powder or dusted with Matcha
powder for eating as a sweet.
15. Serve. You should now have
the yummiest thing you have ever tasted in your life.
Mochi can be served in soup. In Japan,
mochi is served in a hot soup called ozonifor the New Year breakfast.
Mochi is great served with a little
soy sauce and wasabi.
If serving as a sweet, be sure to have
it with some Japanese green tea.
That's it ^-^. For traditional steps, you can see this (I copy pasted it fromhttp://simplymochi.com/2009/07/20/traditional-way-of-mochi-making-and-the-various-usages-for-it/):
First Step: Soak polished rice
overnight and then cook the rice until it is soft in texture.
Second Step: The cooked rice is
now pounded with a huge, heavy, wooden mallet (kine) in a traditional wooden
mortar (usu). Mochi rice is very sticky and gets hard fast so it
needs to be consistently wetted, pounded, and turned. Because this requires
a lot of physical power it is best to have two people taking turns pounding the
mochi rice with the heavy mallets. If you are ever in Japan, give it a
try! Not only is it great exercise, but you can say that you
were part of a very old japanese tradition.
Third Step: After the rice has
been pounded into a paste, it becomes a sticky mass which is now ready to
be molded into various shapes for many uses.
And before I end my long story, you
must be very careful when eating this one. This year, 18 people in Japan were
been hospitalized and 9 died. So, don't be in hurry when eating mochi and don't
take too much at once. For more info, you can read here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/indonesia/majalah/2015/01/150105_majalahlain_kuemochi_jepang
I hope you enjoyed reading this, sorry if there were some wrong things. Thanks for reading:)

3 Weeks Of Freedom
Hello everyone! How’s life? Like
what you see right now, this time I want to write about ‘Three Weeks of Freedom’.
A little bit weird title, but there is an explanation why I picked this: the
word ‘Freedom’ here means freedom from that usually students would hate, like
learning at school, meeting test, and the plenty homeworks everyday (but in
fact, some of people are still enjoying this). But yeah, are we really ‘Free’?
You’ll find the answer on the end of this text:D
So than reading my boring
explanation, please read my story about my holiday. Please enjoy it.
Sorry for to discuss about this
first, but do you like playing games? Maybe many of you like to play games, it
can be computer games, online games, emulator games or games that requires an
emulator, RPG games, boardgames, maybe traditional games, etc. But if there are
lovers, there will be haters too. But this time I want to share about a great
game with a great storyline too that I played along my holiday, ‘The Crooked
Man’. A horror game about a man named David Hoover who just moved to a new
apartement. He moved there hoping he will forget his ‘crooked’ life: The one
who he wantto marry went away, his mother got an brain cancer, and his dream to
be a pilot can’t be true because he is colour blind. Started from the beginning
of the game, he was haunted from a creature that he named ‘crooked man’ because
of his crooked neck. The goal of the game is to find the reason why the crooked
man followed him. What happenedd? It will be a spoiler if I tell you the end,
so I recommend you to play this game:D But really, this game inspired me to do
the best in every situation even if our life is just ‘crooked’ hehe...
Now, I want to tell you about my
friends in my mentoring group. “What is that?”, I know some of you are asking
that question. Mentoring group is a group of some people that is lead by a
mentor where those people are gathering together to discuss things, usually
about our beloved religion Islam. But because it’s holiday, so my mentoring
group was been stopped for 3 weeks. In that blank time, we made a little party
in my friends house. We roasted some sausages and chicken, yummy. And after
that we made some resolution for 2015. We spent around 6 hours, from 9.00am
until 3.00pm. It was really fun to meet them, I hope next time we could do this
again.
Silvester night. When people
around the world are sitting together watching fireworks painting the night
sky, I and my family went to Garut in the morning. It was quite peaceful, maybe
because they aren’t sleeping overnight. There, we spent a night at Sumber Alam
Hotel. The hotsprings was our first aim, beside it’s for relaxing our mind,
taking a bath there could help me to make my backbones straight (I have a
scoliosis). The view and the food there was also nice. We went back the day
after that.
Four
days remaining, when the majority of students laid down on their beds and luxuriate
the last four days, PMR, one of the extraculiculars in SMAN 3 held a camping
that was hold in Ciwangun Indah Camp (CIC). We went there around 9 o’clock with
an angkot and arived there at noon. When we arived, we played a mini game, then
the boys went to the masjid (mosque) to do ‘jumatan’ while the girls are making
the tent and bifak, a little tent made from ‘ponco’s. We maked a little ditch
around our tent and the bifak, because we were scared it would rain that day. After
eating, we got a mission to find and cure three people in CIC that are hurt
with just one hint. After searching a while, we found all the victims. It was
really fun. At night, we ate together our selfmade food with the upperclassmans
and some alumnus. They shared some experiences about PMR. At night, (don’t
really now the exact time because we aren’t allowed to wear clocks) we slept. But
because the bifak wasn’t so warm (read: very cold) the boys couldn’t sleep. And
circa 3.00am at the morning, some alumnus woke us up and asked us some
questions about the reason joining PMR, our hopes, and what we gonna do for
PMR. It was really dramatical. Then, we got a PMR pin to symbolize that we are
recruited to PMR. We took some photos, eat (again), and went home after that. Even
when we are just 7 people, it was really exiting.
So,
like I did explain, were it really freedom for us? Freedom is relative but the
most important freedom is to be free from laziness and other stupid things. So,
fill your holiday with positive things and don’t make it to ‘Three regretful
weeks’ hehe.
Sorry if
there are some words that are not comfortable to hear, and thank you for
reading:D

Straw, Coal, and Bean
Hello guys! This time I want to share a story made by the Grimm Brother, titled "Straw, Coal, and Bean". I hope you'll enjoy it ;)
--------------------------------------
An old woman lived in a village. She had gathered a serving of beans and wanted to cook them, so she prepared a fire in her fireplace. To make it burn faster she lit it with a handful of straw. While she was pouring the beans into the pot, one of them fell unnoticed to the floor, coming to rest next to a piece of straw. Soon afterward a glowing coal jumped out of the fireplace and landed next to them.

The straw said, "Dear friends, where do you come from?"
The coal answered, "I jumped from the fireplace, to my good fortune. If I had not forced my way out, I surely would have died. I would have burned to ash."
The bean said, "I too saved my skin. If the old woman had gotten me into the pot I would have been cooked to mush without mercy, just like my comrades."
"Would my fate have been any better?" said the straw. "The old woman sent all my brothers up in fire and smoke. She grabbed sixty at once and killed them. Fortunately I slipped through her fingers."
"What should we do now?" asked the coal.
"Because we have so fortunately escaped death," answered the bean, "I think that we should join together as comrades. To prevent some new misfortune from befalling us here, let us together make our way to another land."
This proposal pleased the other two, and they set forth all together.
They soon came to a small brook, and because there was neither a bridge nor a walkway there, they did not know how they would get across it.
Then the straw had a good idea, and said, "I will lay myself across it, and you can walk across me like on a bridge."
So the straw stretched himself from one bank to the other. The coal, who was a hot-headed fellow, stepped brashly onto the newly constructed bridge, but when he got to the middle and heard the water rushing beneath him, he took fright, stopped, and did not dare to go any further.
Then the straw caught fire, broke into two pieces, and fell into the brook. The coal slid after him, hissed as he fell into the water, and gave up the ghost.
The bean who had cautiously stayed behind on the bank had to laugh at the event. He could not stop, and he laughed so fiercely that he burst. Now he too would have died, but fortunately a wandering tailor was there, resting near the brook. Having a compassionate heart, he got out a needle and thread and sewed the bean back together.
The bean thanked him most kindly. However, because he had used black thread, since that time all beans have had a black seam.

Moses and Khidir, there is always something better in this world
Once upon a time, someone came to prophet moses and ask him, "Moses replied: "No!", believing so, as Allah had
given him the power of miracles and honored him with the Torah.
However, Allah revealed to Moses that no man could know all
there is to know, nor would one messenger alone be the custodian of all
knowledge. There would always be another who knew what others did not. Moses
asked Allah: "0 Allah, where is this man? I would like to meet him and
learn from him." He also asked for a sign to this person's identity.
Allah instructed him to take a live fish in a water-filled
vessel. Where the fish disappeared, he would find the man he sought. Moses set
out on his journey, accompanied by a young man who carried the vessel with the
fish. They reached a place where two rivers met and decided to rest there.
Instantly, Moses fell asleep.
While he was asleep, his companion saw the fish wriggle out
of the vessel into the river and swim away. However, he forgot to relate this
incident to Moses. When he awoke, they continued their journey until they were
exhausted and hungry. Moses asked for his morning meal. Only then did his
companion recall that the fish they had brought with them had gotten away.
Hearing this, Moses exclaimed: 'This is exactly what we are seeking!" They
hurriedly retraced their steps to the place where the rivers met and where the
fish had jumped out. There they found a man, his face partly covered with a
hood. His bearing showed he was a saintly man. He was Al-Khidr, the guide.
Allah the Almighty narrated: And (remember) when Moses said
to his boy-servant: "I will not give up (traveling) until I reach the
junction of the two seas or (until) I spend years and years in traveling."
But when they reached the junction of the two seas, they
forgot their fish, and it took its way throught the sea as in a tunnel. So when
they had passed further on (beyond that fixed place),
Moses said to his
boy-servant: "Bring us our morning meal; truly, we have suffered much
fatigue in this, our journey."
He said: "Do you remember when we betook ourselves to
the ock? I indeed forgot the fish, none but Satan made me forget to remember
it. It took its course into the sea in a strange (way)!"
(Moses) said: "That is what we have been seeking."
So they went back retracing their footsteps.
Then they found one of Our slaves, unto whom We had bestowed
mercy from Us, and whom We had taught knowledge from Us.
Moses said to him (Khidr) "May I follow you so that you
teach me something of that knowledge (guidance and true path) which you have
been taught (by Allah)?"
He (Khidr) said: "Verily! You will not be able to have
patience with me! And how can you have patience about a thing which you know
not?"
Moses said: "If Allah will, you will find me patient,
and I will not disobey you in aught."
He (Khidr) said: "Then, if you follow me, ask me not
about anything till I myself mention it to you.
So they both proceeded, till, when they were in the ship, he
(Khidr) scuttled it. Moses said: "Have you scuttled it in order to drown
its people? Verily, you have done Imra - a Munkar (evil, bad, dreadful)
thing."
He (Khidr) said: "Did I not tell you, that you would
not be able to have patience with me?"
(Moses) said: "Call me not to account for what I
forgot, and be not hard upon me for my affair (with you)."
Then they both proceeded, till they met a boy, he (Khidr)
killed him. Moses said: "Have you killed an innocent person who had killed
none? Verily, you have done Nukra a great Munkar (prohibited, evil, dreadful)
thing!"
(Khidr) said: "Did I not tell you that you can have no
patience with me?"
(Moses) said: "If I ask you anything after this, keep
me not in your company, you have received an excuse from me."
Then they both proceeded, till, when they came to the people
of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them. Then
they found therein a wall about to collapse and he (Khidr) set it up straight.
(Moses) said: "If you had wished, surely you could have taken wages for
it!"
(Khidr) said: "This is the parting between me and you.
I will tell you the interpretation of (those) things over which you were unable
to hold patience.
'As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working in the
sea. So I wished to make a defective damage in it, as there was a king after
them who seized every ship by force.
"And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we
feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief. So we intended
that their Lord should change him for them for one better in righteousness and
near to mercy.
"And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in
the town; and there was under it a treasure belonging to them; and their father
was a righteous man, and your Lord intended that they should attain their age
of full strength and take out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord. And I
did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of those (things) over
which you could not hold patience.

HAGIA SOPHIA-an amazing structure
![]() |
| Hagia Sophia |
Maybe some of you don’t know that
Islam once lead Europe that is nowdays more known as a dominant christian
continent. This is prove by buildings in Europe with islamic architecture, one
of them is Hagia Sophia or formerly called Aya Sofya. But there is one unique
fact about this building: at the beginning it was a church, than a Mosque, and
now it’s a museum. How can that happen? Let’s check out!
Hagia Sophia in that means “pure
sagacity”(or in turkish language ‘Aya Sophia’) is an one of the spectacular
icon of Istanbul beside the Blue Mosque. It was built around 15 centuries ago
or at 558 C by Caisar Justianus and took 6 years to be finished. Cool, isn’t
it? The building itself did collapse for several times because of earthquake
but it was built again.
The architecture of Hagia Sophia
is very amazing. The design of the
building is called Byzantium Design and is the best at it’s era. From outside
you can see a huge dome, the high is around 54 meters and it’s diameter is
around 30 meters. If you go inside, you will see a beautiful interior design decorate
with mosaic and fresco carves. People that have visited Hagia Sophia said that it’s
aura is different than other building in Istanbul.
The beautiness of Hagia Sophia wasn't able to be done if there wasn't Anthemios and Isidorus, the architects that designed Hagia Sophia with a new a style. The style was inspired from islamic architecture from persian and syriah. Islamic architects made domes from lighter bricks compared to domes at that time so that it wasn't so expensive. They combined the dome from islamic architecture and a long hall that is normally used in churces.

| The Interior view of Hagia Sophia |
Behind the great architecture is
also a great history too. First, Hagia Sophia, as I mentioned above, was meaned
to be a church. The caisar of Byzantium wanted to built a big and fantastic catedral.
It was even called as Holy Wisdom Church. Hagia Sophia was a churh about 10
centuries, or exactly 916 years.
But then at Tuesday, May 29th 1453,
Constantinopel (the name of Istanbul years ago) was occupied by Sulthan Mehmed
II or well known as Muhammad Al-Fatih. Many things was revised by him. Hagia
Sophia changed it’s function to a Mosque and it’s name also changed to Hagia
Aya. The good point from Muhammad Al-Fatih is that he didn’t destroyed the frescos
and images on the wall, he just covered them with calighrapy and removed the
statues. The christianic symbole (cross) on the top was switch with a crescent .
Along the khalifah of Turk Utsmani ruled Hagia Sophia has been renovated and 4
towers has been built.
But sadly, when turkey changed to
a republic, Mustofa Kemal Ataruk made Hagia Sophia as a museum at 1937. Some designs that symbolized Islam was
removed. So, like we can see now, Hagia Sophia contains both Islamic and
Christanic symboles. Because of it’s age and it’s beauty, UNESCO at 1985 assigned
Hagia Sophia as one of the World Herritage Side.
This building is not just
wonderful because it’s great design and history. Behind all of that we can also
learn to tolerate each other even when our religion is different. Muhammad
Al-Fatih made a wise decision to not remove all christian symboles.
